Tip No.4 – Get Educated About Weight Loss
Undoubtedly if you buy a weight loss book or weight loss e-book, or join a gym or on-line community, then you will come across terms and references that you don’t possibly know much about. Learn what Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is, Body Max Index (BMI) , Body Fat Percentage, Glycemic Index, Calories, Kilojoules, Low Fat, Trans fats, Bad Fats, Good Fats, etc, etc..
There are lots of references on the Internet and the information is freely available. Any good weight loss e-book will also contain all this information within it. As I continue to update this blog I will add articles and excerpts on most of the weight loss terminology.
The next step in the education process is to learn about food and exercise. You need to learn which foods to eat and which foods to avoid at all costs. Look out for tips on food preparation for weight loss and also cooking tips. Diets or meal planning don’t have to be boring. In fact you may even find it downright exciting and rewarding. Challenge your imagination, maybe you can come up with your own recipes. The Internet is loaded with information for you, some of it free and others you have to pay for.
Exercise is not optional. You may control your weight and also lose weight initially just by dieting alone. However , 95 % of successful weight loss campaigns include a combination of diet and exercise. Initially exercise accelerates weight loss. After you lose the weight, you will want to keep it off. Exercise then becomes part of your maintenance program. In fact exercise must become a way of life.
If you have gotten this far in my blog you may have begun to realise that what i am advocating is a lifestyle change. So the next step For is to ….Make A Decision!!
