Tip No.3 – Have A Fitness Test
Having a fitness test is as important as knowing your numbers in Tip No. 1. There are many health centres who offer this service for a fee. It is well worth the money to have this done. The tests should measure the following.
- heart rate
- body mass index (BMI)
- cholesterol
- body fat percentage
- basal metabolic rate (BMR)
- flexibility
- core strength
- recovery rate
Based on your results an expert will help to interpret the results and should give you some recommendations about what you can do to improve on in each area measured. You should keep a record of this test so that when you take the test again you can use it as a measure of your progress. It is normally recommended that you take the test again, after a minimum of 6 months and before the end of 12 months.
In the first fitness test you will not really see any benefit of having to do it. By the second fitness test some exciting results should have occurred which will give you a great motivational boost, because you have documented proof from professionals. This gives you an extremely high bragging tool to use for your family and friends.
While seeing your numbers on the scale declining and seeing your clothing growing, while you shrink is awesome. Nothing can beat the results you get from your fitness test though which should include graphs and motivating comments. its kind of like a certificate of your success.
